New Zealand 1960s-1970s Retro Football Shirt

New Zealand 1960s-1970s Retro Football Shirt. The New Zealand football team take their nickname- the ‘All-Whites’- from the colour of their strip. They were not allowed to follow in the tradition of the ‘All-Black’ strip, as it resembles the international colour for football referees, so they opted to go for a totally different look. They finally qualified for their first World Cup entry in 1982 after a long series of competitions. First, they won the Oceania qualification group They then went on to play in a 5 team Round Robin tournament beating China to the qualification position after finishing joint top. New Zealand lost all 3 of their World Cup games against Scotland, the Soviet Union and not surprisingly, Brazil. The team only managed to score 2 goals in the tournament against Scotland but as it was their first World Cup entry, even that was seen as an achievement by many fans.
