Vancouver Whitecaps 1978 Home Jersey By 1978, the Vancouver Whitecaps were onto their fifth season as a team and as a part of the NASL. They were the top flight of canadian soccer with an overal 68 goals scored, a thirteen-game winning streak, and a record 24 wins – 6 loss – joint with the New York Cosmos. The Whiecaps achieved such success with a mojoritively English team, nicknicamed the “English Mafia”, with ‘King’ Kevin Hector leading the team with 21 goals and ten asssists. However, it was Canadian player Bob Lenarduzzi who claimed North American Player of the year in ’78. We have replicated the orignal Vancouver Whitecaps jersey worn in 1978. It is long sleeved with a v/neck collar and red/navy striped cuffing. The shirt is also customised with navy and red tape going from each shoulder down to the bottom seam and a heat sealed number 18 on the front and back.
